How does a Beachbody Coach make money?

Many people are wondering how a Beachbody Coach makes his or her money so I thought I’d write up a little post about it. There are a few ways, and they are all pretty simple.

Retail Sales

For most if not all coaches, this is their money maker early on. Any product that the coach sells (I hate the word sell as a coaches job is about helping people live healthier and more fulfilling lives), will earn them a 25% commission. The price is the same for the customer (client), but Beachbody takes less of a profit and gives that 25% of the retail price to the coach so that they have the means to help keep people motivated and exercising.

Team Volume

I’m not going to go into extreme detail on this but basically, once a coach has a large enough base of clients, coaches that they have sponsored, etc., you can start earning quite a lot of what Beachbody calls Team Volume. Team Volume is only generated from product sold so there are no “free points or free money”, or anything like that. It’s like in any business where if one sector of the company does very well, the management team may reward them with a bonus for that quarter or other time period for a job well done. The volume bonuses at Beachbody are set in stone so once you reach the magic number, you get the bonus automatically.

Team Volume for coaches just starting out will be nothing to very small until that coach has put the effort in to build their business. But, this volume bonus is also how some of the top coaches are making over a million dollars a year as a Team Beachbody Coach. The earning potential with Beachbody is unlimited so if you can dream it, you can achieve it.

How much can you earn?

Well, it is unlimited, but here are the low, average, and high earnings for all ranks of coaches.

The bulky myth

bulky-mythWill lifting weights make a woman ”bulky”?

There are a lot of women out there that don’t like, or don’t want to, lift weights because there is a big myth that doing so will make them bulky. This probably started as a marketing campaign for some product but the reality is that women just don’t have the testosterone to be able to do so. Muscles can grow or shrink, but they cannot be lean, bulky, or any other adjective.

When someone is lifting weights, the muscles develop tiny microscopic tears. When you work the muscles to complete failure (at around 6-8 reps, less than that is working muscular power) the body builds the muscles back up larger than they were before as it is repairing those muscle tears. How much they grow depends on several things, such as how much sleep you are getting as human growth hormone is released at this time, and testosterone levels. Women, by their nature, just don’t have the testosterone that is needed to add mass.

Lifting weights is also one of the best ways to ramp up your metabolism to burn calories, strengthens the bones to help prevent osteoporosis, increases muscular endurance and more. It is one of the best things you can do for your health, so don’t be afraid of it! :) Unless you are taking roids, a woman will not get “bulky”.
